Ice storm

I took the kids to school like I normally do.  I noticed on my way back from taking Max to band that the road was a little slippery.   I didn't think much about it.  I went back and got Ryan and Lyla out to school.   We listened to the radio program that we always listen to and then Lyla climbed out of the car.  As her feet hit the ground, she fell right on her behind.  She cried because it hurt and was so alarming that she would fall so fast.  She came over to my side of the car.  I tried to help her but it was slippery.  She got to the sidewalk and waved and went on her way.  Super slippery.   By that time, the radio program was done.  Ryan climbed out of the car and then right when his feet hit the ground, he slipped too.  Right to the ground!   We laughed because he had just seen Lyla fall.  I would have thought that he would have been a little more careful.  Ha!  It was funny, but I felt bad for them.  Falling is not fun and falling on the ice is even worse because there is no control.  Your feet just slip out from under you.

Poor things.   I pulled away from the driveway and laughed at the situation.  I wasn't laughing at them.
