This week...

I spent the week getting the kids where they belonged.  Traveling back and forth to lessons, practice, and school.  I am tired.

Alysa made the school varsity volleyball team.  HOORAY.  She is so excited to be on the team.  She practices everyday after school and is learning new things!

Alysa and her boyfriend broke up. They broke up over text.  Kids nowadays!

Max got his cast off.  He wiggled his fingers after they took it off and said "Oh, this is the best feeling ever!"  We were excited today that we didn't have to put a bag on his hand for him to shower.

Lyla keeps crying all week over everything.  She is so bugged by Ryan that it drives her crazy.  She was most mad this week when Ryan wrote on the Target toy ad.  That was more than she could stand.  She cried for almost an hour.   She was also mad at his song choice in the car on the way to school.  We alternate days of the week that they each get to choose, but his song choices are awful (according to her)!

I helped Max with his science paragraph about the Milky Way.  He had a great idea all by himself.  I loved it.  I helped him with some sentence structure and punctuation and adding some detail before he turned it it.  After school yesterday he said that his teacher asked him to read it aloud in front of the class.  He said he didn't want to!  I told him to go back and tell her he would.  We will see what happens!

The cat has thrown up a few times this week.  She is sick.  Her skin is all red and has bumps all over it.  I am taking her to the vet next week.  Hopefully she wil be ok.

I like to study my kids faces. I love to study their freckles, their eyes, their mouths.  I like to study them!  Ryan hates it when I study him. He yells and screams that he doesn't want me to study him!  Ha!  I will secretly still study him, I just won't tell him!

Lyla started doing the dishes last week.  She puts all of the clean dishes in their rightful spot and then rinses off the dirty dishes and puts them in the dishwasher.  It takes her a long time, but she truly loves to do the dishes!

Max finally trusts me to help him with his math!  My kids always think that Eric is the math guy and that I can't help them.  I have been helping Max for a few weeks with his math and the other night he said that he didn't know that I was so good at math and can help him just like dad.  He says he actually likes me to help him better!  Yay!  He and I think the same.  I actually enjoy helping him.

Max and Ryan need new shoes.  Their shoes stink!   Max tries to wear my shoes... I say no! He will put his stink in them. he laughs and tries to anyway.

Ryan was the only kid at his karate class last night.  It was 2 hours!  He got some special one on one training and earned his stripe.

Lyla and I were reading a book this week.  The book is called "Ready for Anything".  It is about a duck and a raccoon that want to go on a picnic but they are afraid they will forget something.  They gather everything they may need and then head to their picnic.  When we got to this part, Lyla said "this book is like our car... READY FOR ANYTHING!  My shoes and my jackets are always there."  Ha!  I laughed because this is very true.  My car is truly a mess!

There are many more things that make up our week... The happy, the sad, the angry... The work, the school, the homework, the struggle to keep going.  The willingness to keep going, the everything and I wouldn't change it for the world!   Love my people and my week!
