we went with our cousins. Everyone had a buddy. Everyone played. Everyone has a little sunburn (stupid sun block!)
we watched the birds. We were cold even though it was HOT. We had sand all over us. We ate picnic food. We put my two umbrellas in the sand. I love my umbrellas. We found treasures. We put mud on us. we rode in the boat. we rode on the tubes. We talked and enjoyed each other.
We enjoyed the moment.
Sometimes being in the moment is the best. It is being present in the day. enjoying the moment is enjoying what is happening at that very moment and not really wishing or thinking about what is next. This is hard.
I had other things to be doing and I don’t really like sand and water, but today, I felt like I enjoyed my moment. i didn’t feel like I thought about what was next.
Enjoying the moment is hard. It is hard to always have other things to do. Other things to think about. Other things that take us away from what we are currently doing.
i think that we are trained to think of what is next. Everyday i give my kids a list of what the plan will be for the day. They don’t seem to care if we deviate from this list. They look forward to what is next, but they don’t dwell on it. I dwell on what is next which causes me to fail at enjoying my moment.
Learning how to enjoy the moment takes time.
kids know how to enjoy the moment. These kids played all day long and I don’t think that any one of them thought about what was next or the things that needed to be done at home.
Ryan and McCall enjoyed their moment in the water. I even caught them holding hands in the water. They were having fun. Not sure what they were talking about, but they weren’t thinking about what was next.
Thanks Ryan and McCall for enjoying the moment.
Ryan ate not one, but two sandwiches.. just because he wanted to. He
loved this day. i loved this day.
these two – Emma and Abby really enjoyed their conversation and their sandwiches. they really enjoyed the moment.
These girlies loved the tube. They loved to be there together. These girls all enjoyed the moment.
Ryan loves to find rocks. Rocks are cool. Rocks that are wet are cooler than other rocks. rocks that Ryan finds are the best.
Lyla enjoyed the ball. It got dirty, but she was okay with that. She threw the ball. she sat on it. She threw it at people. She enjoyed her moment for sure!
two more cousins, just talking while they watched the boats. They were talking and having a wonderful time.
I took McCall’s picture like this and then she walked away. Lyla wanted her picture taken just like McCall. She is cute. I love her. I love her even when she is always touching me. i love her when she can’t leave me alone. She won’t be this way forever. i enjoyed my moment with Lyla today. I even enjoyed when she screamed and screamed on the boat that she wanted out. She didn’t love the boat and wanted to get off as soon as she could. I enjoyed being with Eric for a minute after he had been on the boat all day long. we talked for a minute as he drove the boat.
mud baths. Tracy and Samantha found the mud. It was time for a spa treatment. I loved to watch these two with the mud. Sam couldn’t get enough of it.
the other girls loved the mud too. it must have been fun to smear mud all over Alysa. She looks so funny. I told her she was a creature from the sea.
all of us smiled.
and my favorite bird photo of the day. This guy has messy feathers on his head. I love it.
My goal for the weekend is to enjoy the moment. I loved my day.
All except for the part that Lyla threw up in my bed before she fell asleep. She had to take another bath and Eric and I had to change our sheets. That sucked and i wished for what was next at that moment.
enjoy the moment.
