My mom’s family gathers in Beaver, Utah for hunting and camping. It is a tradition. this year they invited everyone for a family reunion. We changed out mind at the last minute and took my mom to Beaver for this occasion. We drove and drove for which what felt like forever. We arrived in Beaver at around 11:30 p.m. It is hard to set up camp and find thing in the car with only a flashlight. Eric stayed in the tent and I stayed in my uncle’s trailer with the girls.
We loved the outdoors and had fun as a family.
Ryan just sat and practiced his fishing at the camp site.
Alysa was thrilled to be camping. (especially so she didn’t have to take a shower)
Lyla woke up late and was excited to see Max when she woke up. She is getting so big.
My cousins and uncle put up a zip line through the trees. Eric had to take a ride for sure. I am not that daring. I didn’t try this for sure. Eric said that it was fun and I will take his word for it.
Ly was trying to figure out what she should do here in the dirt and rocks!
Max had to try the zip line too. eric said it was pretty high so he didn’t let him go all the way up. He just pushed him up a little ways and then let him go. He loved it.
Grandma Lori came with us and we were glad that she could join our family. Lyla had found her best friend for the whole trip for sure.
The craft for the kids was to decorate and make boats to float in the water.
Alysa and her “Ute” boat.
Max and his boat with stickers on the sail. He thought his boat was wonderful.
Ryan made his boat too. His had orange all over it because that is his favorite color. Just before making boats, Ryan wanted to go on the zip line. Eric pulled him up and he slipped off of the handles and the handlebars came down right on his head. It cut his head and blood was spilling out of his head. We thought for sure that we were going to be heading down the mountain for stitches. Luckily it wasn’t that bad. Eric asked me right before we left if he needed a first aid kit. I said no because the first aid kits that Eric brings with us would be a back pack or oversized bin of items for any type of emergency. He didn’t even grab a small first aid kit. So we had to borrow a first aid kit from my uncle. Nice!
Then to the water to float the boats. we put them in a little stream and most of them tipped over and the sails were wet. The kids still loved to float them in the water.
Then we headed to Puffer lake to fish. Alysa caught the first fish and then Max the next. Ryan isn’t very patient.
Lyla just wanted to make a mess of Eric’s fishing stuff and herself. She loved her lunch on the side of the rocks and after it was covered in dirt.
Family photo. This is the place that pictures have been taken every year. My grandma and grandpa loved to have this many people at this reunion this year.
after pictures we were at the camp. eric went exploring with the kids and Alysa mentioned that she got a bite of some sort on her leg. Eric told her that it was probably a stick. Then she said it again. they ran really fast out of the forest and by the time they were out, Alysa had 5 wasps/hornet/bee stings on her leg and on her tummy. Sad. Ryan had one behind his ear. Ryan was crying and then of course with his tummy problems and being so upset, he threw up. at this moment, he doesn’t want to come to Beaver ever again.
Our Beaver experience was complete with jeep rides, bleeding heads, bee stings, throwing up, dirt, dirt and more dirt. We had a blast and would consider going again for sure.
BYE Beaver!! We had a good time. Hopefully we will see you again sometime.
