Favorite Things

I just love favorite things. I was just cleaning up my kids rooms and saw Alysa's Sesil, Max's Blankets (Bears & Bees) and Ryan's Toy Story toys.

Sesil has been carried around, dirty, clean, washed, dryed, he also has worn Halloween costumes. Alysa got Sesil from Jen and Ang for her 1st birthday and she just adopted it as her favorite thing. If he falls on the floor at night, she will come running into my room and indicate that she cannot find him. He is her protector and her friend. As you can see, Sesil's neck is floppy and he has beed "used", but he will never be replaced by anything. :)

Max has always had his blankets. They are two waffle blankets. Each has a little picture on the side - one is bears and one is bees. He holds onto these at night and calls them Bears & Bees. Bees are thinner than the Bears so they have a lot of holes in them. I have sewn all of the holes. They have been carried around and even though they look old, but they will never be replaced by anything new. Hooray for Bears and Bees!

Ryan has his Toy Story Toys. I put them on his bed in order and took this picture. Now they are out and being played with. They can never be put away, as they are out 5 minutes later. He also has some silkies and a blanket that he loves. They are comforting to him when he is tired, he asks for them.

I love favorite things that kids carry around. I love my kids!

It is good for kids to have special things, but bad for parents when those favorite things are lost!!

I love favorite things. Kayla has a bunny that is named Fluffy that she cannot go anywhere without.

I remember you having a "favorite thing" too. It is so nice to have something to give us comfort at night and when we are away from home. I think that Patti still has her pound puppy and I was able to replace Kelli's lost Bearly, Tommy is carrying around Pam's Mickey blanket. It is fun to have something to hug!
Love you tons,
Aunt Cathy

Ah yes ..... favorite things. Never lose track of them because you (as the parent in charge) will NEVER EVER forgive yourself for losing something that once belonged to your baby who is no longer a baby.
